Kellie's sketch reminder

Good morning everyone. I just thought I would post a reminder of Kellie's sketch challenge. The prize is a $10 voucher from Softpencil. I love this sketch and I am sure you do too. Have a go - would love to see what you create.

I must say that I was totally out of my comfort zone when I did this card. It has been such a long time since I did a SU card. I used the Thoroughly Modern DSP from SU US catalogue (not available in Australia). It is the best DSP - so bright. I used my Eastern Blooms and Wow Flowers stamp sets for the images and of course my new US In Colors markers for the flowers and sentiment. Enjoy your day.

Snoozing

Good morning everyone. Hope we are all keeping well. I had a great time away with my family. My Dad took us out for dinner on Friday night and for THE first time ever it was just us as a family - sitting, talking, drinking and enjoying each others company. I missed the kids terribly though so I ended up getting home last night not today as planned - although with the way the kids have been acting I wish I had stayed at my sister's last night and come home today LOL. It is a catch 22. Hehehe.

My sisters workshops went okay - just okay. She made enough sales to get the hostess benefits but it was very disappointing for her. We had one late Friday afternoon and one person just didn't show but we were supposed to have 7 people come yesterday morning and 5 people didn't show - not even a phone call or an SMS to let my sister know that they weren't coming - so for her it was disappointing that they didn't care enough to let her know. Disappointing for me, as I drove 400kms for two workshops that wouldn't even cover my petrol. Grrrr....!!!! Nevermind - my sister was happy so that is all that matters. Anyway enough babbling from me.

As promised - a scrapbooking LO. I didn't actually end up doing this at the workshops as they were all more interested in cardmaking - good thing I can whip up a card with my eyes closed these days so wasn't too bad. I put it all together this morning as I had everything cut etc. Hope you like.

I decided I needed to make another Stampin' Up only card due to my workshop this weekend and the sketch over at Sweetie's Sketches is perfect. I love this stamp set - Forest Friends. I was so wanting it as soon as I saw it in the US mini cattie. So cute. I used the sentiment from Overall and cut it out. Love this DSP too.

I haven't done one for a while and forgot how easy they can be. I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers. It was so good to get it done and I almost forgot to post it. LOL.

I have been so engrossed in Bella and Edwards life that I forgot about my one. Hahaha. I tell you what - the Twilight series certainly suck you in and make you go into their own little world of Vampires. I am so into them at the moment. Just finished New Moon and will be reading Eclipse very soon. Hopefully I can get another quick card out of the way so I can start reading the third one.

Pretty Packaging

Down at The Secret Crafters Saturday Challenge Blog the challenge this week is pretty packaging. I couldn't help myself and had to do a little box. I found this chocolate box template at Kirsten's blog. Wow she makes the most brilliant creations. I altered mine to be 14x10cms instead of 14x8cms. I wanted a little bit bigger to fit some small greeting cards too. I haven't made those yet. Maybe a project for next week.

Stamp with Fun #12 - Sketch by Bea

This week over at Stamp with Fun they have a wonderful sketch by Bea. I thought this was a great idea doing the ovals and a sitting image. I had lots of fun with this one. I used my SU blender pen and inks once again to colour this image so the colours matched the DSP perfectly. Hope you like.

I got a nice little package in the mail today from Stampin' Up - I got a certificate of promotion - for making Senior Associate and a great little SU badge. Woot woot. Always nice to get recognition in writing. Thanks SU.

Upsy Daisy in depth

I got myself a brayer last week after seeing the beautiful creations that Michelle Zindorf has been doing. I must say that she is absolutely amazing at using the brayer and even teaches classes all over the US. Wish I lived there so I could go to one of her classes. Michelle is also fabulous at looking at a painting for inspiration and then putting it on 'paper' as a card. I really don't know how she does it - if you check out her blog you will see the amazing cards she makes.
The card below is from a tutorial that is on her blog. Everything on this card is Michelle. Not one idea is from myself. I had to try this out as it looked amazing - mine is nowhere near as good as hers. Perfect card for my Mum, Dad, MIL or Nanna.

Another fabulous sketch over at Sketch Saturday this week. I decided to do a Stampin' Up only card for this challenge. I just love this Urban Oasis DSP. I embossed the rose with Gold embossing powder and then cut it out several times and layered it. It turned out great.

Afternoon everyone. This week at Dare you to digi stamp Friday challenge #11 the theme is Chocolate & Orange. Yep it makes you want to pop down to the shops and buy yourself some Terry's. Yummo. I, however, have decided to make a BBQ invite with this gorgeous Digi stamp from Whimsie Doodles. Can you tell I am in love with these cuties. Whimsie the Turtle is just divine. Jolly Girl

I posted a little while ago that I had been neglecting my scrapbooking of late but I lost my Mojo but last night as I sat down to 'try' and do a LO it all came together easily. I really don't know what I did before I found sketches as it certainly takes the guess work out of where to put everything.

My little Miss is so easy to scrapbook. She is always smiling and makes for a good photo. But have done note to self - don't get photo printed in gloss. I had to wipe off the finger prints on the photo which doesn't happen on matt finish.

I actually used the Stamp with Fun sketch this week for this LO and technically I only used one stamp (flower in the bottom left) so I won't be entering in to the challenge this week. Hopefully I will have time today (as hubby is home) to create some more cards.

Hey everybody. Hope we are all having a great day. Being a public holiday here in Melbourne I am having an excellent day as hubby is home and helping looking after the kids. You know what that means??? Lots of craft work. LOL.

Okay on to my card. This card is for Friday Sketchers. Another great sketch this week. I turned it to fit my stamped images. I must admit that when making this card I was happy with it but when all stuck together I don't know whether I like it. Oh well.

Stamp with fun #9

Stamp with fun #9 - Not a card. I made this gorgeous little card holder which is a take on the mini magazine holder. I got the template/instructions from Sunflower Stamping. I thought it was wonderful. It holds cards that are 4-1/4" x 5-1/2". Check it out - the instructions are pretty simple but don't make the mistake I did and make sure it all fits together properly (I had a huge overlap).

Poppin Pastels

I thought I would give Poppin Pastels a go last night. It is my first go and even though it didn't quite turn out the way I wanted it still worked out really well. I first did the stems in Old Olive and the flowers in real read so I was going to do an Old Olive and Real red card but the red went into the olive so I ended up swiping Brilliant Blue over the top and the flowers looked like Rose red so hence I have done a Rose red and Old Olive card. I like it except I didn't stick down the ribbon right so you can see the bottom of the stems on the upper right. No matter. Once again I used the Upsy Daisy stamp set. As you probably guessed this is a Stampin' Up only card.

Mojo Monday & my birthday cards from the kids

Mojo Monday week 88. Great sketch. I was able to do a Stampin' Up only card once again. Am loving the Urban Oasis DSP. Love the black. I embossed the rose from Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set in Gold embossing powder. It worked out really well. Hope you like.

These are the beautiful cards that my kids made me this morning for my birthday. The little one my little girl made. Ain' t it cute. She is so sweet. LOL. I stamped the Edwin stamps for the boys and they had a ball 'colouring' them in. Hahaha. My little man Tyler used a really dark colour so you can't really see the the picture.

For a 17 month old I think my little girl did a good job. LOL.

Sketch Saturday #52. Gosh I don't know what I used to do without a sketch. No wonder it used to take me so long to make a card - I could never figure them out. LOL. I did a Stampin' Up only card for this sketch. As soon as I saw it I knew exactly what stamps to use. I just love the SU Washington Apple DSP. It is so bright and cheerful. Hope you like.

Big Brothers

Of late I have been neglecting my scrapbooking. I only got into cardmaking when a good friend showed me what she had been doing. Then I got a Stampin' Up catalogue and then I was hooked. My scrapbooking has taken a back seat so I decided it was time to do some more.

Here is a page I finished last night. It is a double 8.25" x 11" page. I bought a new American Crafts album and thought it fit A4 pages but it is slightly smaller - no matter as I was able to crop them down to fit the album. So here it is.

A challenge free day

Evening everyone. Well I decided today not to make any challenge cards. I made a card just for the sake of making a card. I have been neglecting my SU cardmaking so I thought today would be the perfect chance to make one. I used the Upsy Daisy set again. I just love the flower stamp in it. Here I have stamped with Versamark ink and used my SU gold embossing powder. I think it turned out really well. I originally did the embossing to make a mothers day card for my mum. I changed my mind. LOL. Typical Gemini. I love the colours of the Urban Oasis DSP and the Not Quite Navy card. I also used Old Olive card. There you have it. I think it is a lovely card.

No Challenges today

I have done so many challenges lately that it was time to just sit down and do some cards for the hell of it. So here you are. I finally got a chance to make a couple of cards with my new Stampin' Up stamps. Organic Outlines is a great set. I just love them. I would normally try and stick to just SU products but I have no glitter embossing powder so the For You card has been embossed with Gel-a-tins Gelly powder. I love the stuff. Can't wait to get my Stampin' Up gold embossing powder. Crossing my fingers for tomorrow. I used the Urban Garden DSP. It is such a lovely pack. I love the colours.

For the trendy trees card I used the Good Morning Sunshine DSP. That too is just funky and so bright (but the colours I used was just the Choc Chip).

A very plain card but I still like it a lot.

Friday Sketchers Challenge - Gorjuss Girls

Okay here is my card for Friday Sketchers . I like the sketch but I am just not feeling very creative at the moment. So I did it exactly how the sketch is with no improv at all. LOL. Sorry to disappoint. On a good note I got my Gorjuss Girls set 2 from Funky Kits.
So happy they arrived but I am suffering from a bad cold so I am feeling a bit blah and just have no energy - hence the lack of creativity.

Just thought I would show you the big bag/envelope that I created to hold the door prize for my workshop yesterday. I made it myself - no template or anything. Am very happy with the way it turned out and everyone was suitably impressed with my handy work. I used the Organic Outlines set on Rose Red card with SU jewel brads - the ribbon is not SU but I had no twine so I had to use it. The sentiment is from the Wow Flowers set.
