Happy 21st UNbirthday

I must say when one of the school mums from my children's school asked if
I could make a card for her niece who is turning 21 and obsessed with
Alice in Wonderland I was very excited about the prospects. I scoured the
net for Alice images, sayings and all things Alice looking for ideas on what to so.

My first initial thought was to do a silhouette card but decided it wasn't fancy
enough. Then I thought vintage Alice with a falling image. Nope. Just didn't look
right for a special card like that for a 21st.

I found this gorgeous image on Deviantart. Oh gosh do I love this. It is from Blue
Undine and it can be found here. Unfortunately I buggered up the Cheshires eyes
and they look a bit funny - at least to me they do.

I have had the Alice in Wonderland Halloween papers for ages and thought this
was the perfect opportunity to use them. I love Alice. If you know me you may know
that Alice was one of the very first stamps I commissioned from Christina for Spesch Stamps
back in the day.

I distressed inked around the image to make it look a little more vintage
than it was.

Enjoy your weekend.

Good Things

Keeping it simple again.
This stamp is from Mo's Digital Pencil again.
It is called 'Good Things'.

I love how this turned out. So simple but would be great for someone looking for a job,
finishing University or just an impatient person.

Sorry for being brief. Enjoy your day. mwah

It's my Birthday

Good morning everyone.
Phew it is going to be a stinker of a day here in Melbourne Victoria Australia. Not
good weather for getting your craft on - especially when you have evaporative cooling
not reverse cycle. Argh. Nevermind.

The weather aside.
Remember how I said I was going to start making my card very simple...!!??
Well I am still doing it and loving it. Don't get me wrong I love making the gorgeous
heavily decorated cards but I wasn't making them quick enough and when you think
of the hundreds - yes hundreds - of cards I already have here gathering dust I have to
start making them this way.

I love this new image from Mo's Digital Pencil. It is called 'Tiara'. She was a delight
to colour and on this simple card I think she looks wonderful.

I must remind myself to start writing down the Copics I use. Sorry if you want to know.

Enjoy the rest of your day peeps. mwah

Christmas cards

At Christmas time I started sharing cards that I made for a friends sister.
I didn't show you all of them (obviously) so thought I would show you them now.

The first card is using 'Little Elf Mim' from Mo Manning.
I had issues with this one as I put glitter on the bauble and then dimensional
magic over the top. Unfortunately it kept lifting when it was attached to the paper.
I had to leave this way as it just was very persistant to come up.

This next card was made using 'Little Elf Finn'. So cute.
This turned out brilliantly and again had the issue with the lifting
but what can you do.

This card was made for my girlfriend using one of the Emo Valentines images
from Simply Betty. I thought it was a good one to use for Christmas-
coz you know Christmas is all about love and sharing etc. LOL.

This image was a freebie image from Simply Betty (for a limited time).
She coloured up really well and love how the card came together.

Surfing Santa from Spesch Designer Stamps. What else can I say.
Love this jolly fellow.

Last but not least this is 'Fairy Fae Catching a Star' by Tiddly Inks.
My GF's sister was very specific about colours and what type of image to be used
for this card. Unless you know the full story it wouldn't make sense to you but too
long to explain. It turned out just the way it should have and the recipient was most
pleased with it.

Enjoy your day.

Baby girl

I was a long weekend. Doing...??? Nothing. Argh. I hate not having a lot of money but I guess I should be thankful that we have healthy children, a roof over our heads and food on the table. That is the most important thing. But of course I also have enough play money that I can at least do my crafting.

I am a gym junkie....!!!
There I said it. LOL. And being part of a gym 'family' you get to know a lot of people, especially if you do the challenges that my gym puts on twice a year. In doing one of them over the years I got to know a lovely young lady that got pregnant on her journey. Got married and almost a year later she had her first baby. Of course, I had to make a card for her.

This card was coloured with Prismacolor pencils. I love working with them from time to time. Of course you can't go past my Copics but this is fun to do. I got the image on the internet - in fact I think I found it on Pinterest. It was free. Hoping it is not something I should have paid for. If so please - anyone who may know - let me know and I will take care of it.

The frilly ribbon has been in my stash for a long time and have been wanting to use it and this card was perfect for it. Finding the beaded ribbon hard to stay down (might have to Dimensional magic it a little to make it stay).

I have no idea what colours were used. Lots of pinks and white. LOL. Enjoy the start of your week.

{Early} Holiday Greetings

Feeling accomplished with my card making over the last couple days. I have been working on many projects but this is the first one I finished. Yes I posted the Winona card yesterday before this one but I loved that one a little bit more than this one.

This stamp is called Reindeer Kid and it another fabulous stamp from Max. I love this one - heck I love all of Max's stamps. This image has been coloured and cut out with a Nestie for a couple years now - yep a couple years. Oops. Just haven't had the drive to put it on a card. Naughty me. At least we have a go on it now LOL.

Again I went for a simple card. This paper is Bo Bunny and I got it - you guessed it - years ago. I actually found there weren't many papers in 2014 that I liked. There was only a couple and I bought them but normally there is too many for me to chose from but not to be last year. Hopefully the scrapbooking paper companies bring out some nice ones this year.

I decided to back up all the papers and the images in black. I saw a few and liked a few examples of this style on Pinterest and thought I would give it a go. I think it turned out well. What do you think...??

I seriously can't remember specifically what Copic colours I used but it would be just looking at the images: Skin: E000, 00, 11, 04; Shirt: YG21, 23, 25, 67; Stocking/sleeves: R22, 17, 29; Antlers: E31, 35(??).

Anyway you get the picture. Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

Trying to make it simple

I have been wanting to get back in to the card making again and have somewhat but have been finding it hard to sit down and dedicate a lot of time to each of the cards. In the meantime I have been colouring lots of Christmas images - as I don't want to get caught with no Christmas cards at the end of the year like I did last year. Don't get me wrong I loved making the cards I made for a friends sister but in doing so I did not have any time to make my own.

So I am starting early on Christmas cards and just cards in general for throughout the year. Even though I have a few too many cards made up already cardmaking is a passion. It is something you do as you enjoy it not just because you have an occasion that comes up.

The below card was made with my new thinking in mind - that new thinking is simplicity. I am trying to make all my cards a lot more simple.

This image is Winona from my stamp shop - Spesch Designer stamps. She can be found HERE, along with all the other gorgeous chibi stamps in this line by Max. Click on Max's name and it will take you to the page on my website that has all of his stamps.

I printed the image on to a A5 size piece of Copic Blending card which you can pick up here at Mad for Markers (along with all your marker needs). Sammi is currently having a wonderful trip overseas right now so be patient she will be back in business soon.

After printing her on to one side of the paper I coloured her like normal but instead of cutting out the whole image to stick, she has just been backed with some purple card. I am quite happy with the way this turned out. The sentiment is something I found free online. I don't recall where I got it from. If you do a search you should be able to pick up a few images in PNG that you can put on your card if you don't have any sentiment stamps.
