Trying to make it simple

I have been wanting to get back in to the card making again and have somewhat but have been finding it hard to sit down and dedicate a lot of time to each of the cards. In the meantime I have been colouring lots of Christmas images - as I don't want to get caught with no Christmas cards at the end of the year like I did last year. Don't get me wrong I loved making the cards I made for a friends sister but in doing so I did not have any time to make my own.

So I am starting early on Christmas cards and just cards in general for throughout the year. Even though I have a few too many cards made up already cardmaking is a passion. It is something you do as you enjoy it not just because you have an occasion that comes up.

The below card was made with my new thinking in mind - that new thinking is simplicity. I am trying to make all my cards a lot more simple.

This image is Winona from my stamp shop - Spesch Designer stamps. She can be found HERE, along with all the other gorgeous chibi stamps in this line by Max. Click on Max's name and it will take you to the page on my website that has all of his stamps.

I printed the image on to a A5 size piece of Copic Blending card which you can pick up here at Mad for Markers (along with all your marker needs). Sammi is currently having a wonderful trip overseas right now so be patient she will be back in business soon.

After printing her on to one side of the paper I coloured her like normal but instead of cutting out the whole image to stick, she has just been backed with some purple card. I am quite happy with the way this turned out. The sentiment is something I found free online. I don't recall where I got it from. If you do a search you should be able to pick up a few images in PNG that you can put on your card if you don't have any sentiment stamps.
